![]() ![]() I felt like the monotony was broken up a bit by the different time period restaurants and all of the varied customers coming in. You will have to play a bit of all the levels to see the different customers and figure out which levels you feel are most difficult so that you can strategize accordingly.Īgain, the main downfall of this game is that the game is pretty repetitive in that you keep baking and serving cakes as fast as you can. Then I played the Asian level and ended with the French or stone age level, as I felt like those levels were easier. I felt like the Egyptian level and the fairy tale level were the hardest, so I played those first. I also saved the game at the beginning, played a few levels of each time period and then played the most difficult levels (for me) first so that the customers were not as difficult. I found that I was more successful with upgrading a single cake baking machine and a single frosting machine to be the fastest, gold level upgrade than having multiple, slow machines. You can also buy a hot drink machine and serve coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to your customers. ![]() So, this game is just the same as 1 & 2 in that you give customers menus, wait for their orders to show, bake the cakes, frost the cakes, and decorate the cakes with whatever cake topper upgrades you have purchased. And, once you think you have won by gathering up all of your people, they spring a surprise outer galaxy 6th location where you have to serve all of the customers from every time period – and aliens! When your customers get unhappy, they change other people’s orders, eat other customers, and other nasty stuff so it gets tough really quickly. Each restaurant that you play gets progressively more difficult as you work through them so in the final, 5th restaurant, you are really pressed for time and it is extremely difficult to keep your customers happy. You start each restaurant with the upgrades that you have collected so time is pretty critical in this game and you need to use your save slots wisely. Just keep in mind that characters from other time periods can pop up in the current era that you are working on so, once you play a level, those guys kind of play with you. There is a stone age store where you are serving dinosaurs and cavemen. There is an Egyptian store with Egyptian jackal-headed gods, pharaohs, and slaves. There is an Asian store in feudal China with warlords, geishas, and golden dragons. There is a Fairy Tale store populated by fairies, wizards, and other tricky characters. There is a French Revolution store, complete with Napoleon, bewigged dukes and poor peasants looking to eat cake. The difficult part of the game is that you get to pick which time period you go to first and I think that some of them are more difficult than others. ![]() You need to go to 5 different time periods and serve enough cakes to get your loved ones back. The premise of this game is that Jill accidentally shattered a magical orb, which sent her friends and family spinning into different eras in history. This game is just Cake Mania 2 on steroids.
